Surviving Ice by K.A. Tucker
Well, it wasn't until I was more than halfway into this book that I realized that this is the last book in a series. There are three other books you're supposed to read before this one!
But I found that you can just read this one without reading the other ones with no problem. It seems as if each book contains its own story. Major characters in this book portray minor characters in other books and vice versa.
The story itself was interesting enough. The character development is what really got me hooked into this book. Ivy and Sebastian are the main characters in this book and they're also the two voices you hear while reading this story. I love how different they are from other characters I've read about. The quirks and personality bits from all the characters is what makes this book worthwhile.
The storyline is about Ivy suddenly losing her uncle in a murder/robbery at his tattoo shop and her trying to find answers on who killed her uncle and why. Sebastian is an Ex-Navy SEAL who is dropped in the middle of Ivy's life. He knows who killed Ivy's uncle and why, but he has a job to do. Ivy wasn't part of his assignment but these two loners end up becoming a huge part of each other's lives, putting them both in danger.
This book is on sale for $12.73. I probably won't read the other books, if I'm being honest. But if you do or if you have, let me know what you thought!
