"Dependent" Isn't A Dirty Word
This is one of my favorite pieces that I've written in a while. I was so excited to write it. I think this is something that we all go through at some point in our lives, but especially for women. We are expected to forge and maintain relationships of all sorts and I sorta stepped away from that this year.
I want to find that balance. It's not going to be easy, but I'm up for the challenge of stepping out of my comfort zone.
This is just one of my New Year's resolutions. I'm so excited to share all of them with you in the new year.

One time, a friend told me I was a lot more dependent on others than they thought I was. That has always stuck with me. I felt like it was a disappointing fact. That I had to be better. Stronger. More independent.
Being an only child of divorced parents, you learn to grow up quickly. I was at home washing dishes while my friends were playing outside. I was figuring out how to apply to college by myself. I was riding my bike to and from school. I was taking care of my mother before and after she was discharged from surgery. I thought I was independent.
