Hikari Cosmetics Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Iris
This eyeliner and I started on the wrong foot. When I received this in my Glam Bag, I didn't open it right away. In fact, I didn't open it until I was about to use it. I figured, what was so special about a black eyeliner?
Except I found out it wasn't black.
See, when I saw the name Iris, I thought it was named after the black part of your eye. It's an eyeliner, I thought it was a cute little name. That wasn't the case. They named it Iris, after the flower, which is purple. So right out of the gate, I was frustrated.
On Ipsy's site, it says it gives enough color with just one swipe but that you can layer it for a more intense color. Well, folks, that is not the case. Even after I let it dry, if I tried to apply another layer of color it would take product away, making my eyeliner streaky as hell. I also found that it doesn't stay pigmented for long. It dried out before I finished both eyes and had to come back to it.
Although I am annoyed with this eyeliner, I did like the color. I was surprised. It was a deep violet, almost plum shade. I think it looked rather good against my brown eyes and can see this looking good against any eye color as well.
