OPI Spring/Summer Collection 2017: Fiji
OPI is taking us to Fiji this spring/summer! I think the colors in this collection are so beautiful. They are vibrant and pack a punch. This collection is not for the faint of heart! Although, there is one nude shade that I love for those of you who like more subdued colors.
This whole collection will be available February 1, 2017. I'm giving you a sneak peek so you can get your hands on them before they're gone. I have a feeling this collection is going to fly off the shelves. All 12 colors will be available in the tradition nail lacquer, GelColor, and Infinite Shine formulas.
The inspiration for this line is the fact that "visiting Fiji is on everyone's wish list" according to the Co-Founder and Brand Ambassador of OPI, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. The colors are pulled from the ocean, the sand, local flowers and the beautiful sunsets.
Now, let's get to the fun part, the colors.
First, we have Two-Timing The Zone. This is a "vibrant pink" and I think this would look very beautiful against darker skin tones.
Living On The Bula-Vard! is a "punchy red" that I think would look beautiful when you're on spring break, even if you're not going anywhere. FYI, "Bula" can mean anything from hello, goodbye, welcome, love and life in Fiji!
Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon is a "pretty hibiscus pink". Nadi is a town in Fiji. I don't know if I would wear this as a bride at my wedding, I think this would look great on all the bridesmaid's though!
Polly Want A Lacquer? is a "lovely lavender" shade. I think this shade or the one above would be pretty for Easter brunch!
Do You Sea What I Sea? is the only shimmer in this whole collection. I'm a little surprised by that, but I really like the crème shades they chose, so I'm not mad about it. This is described as a "shimmering ocean blue". This is great for when you're poolside.
Is That A Spear In Your Pocket? is probably the best nail polish name I have ever heard. This "lush, tropical teal" wouldn't be my first choice for a spring/summer shade. However, I think you could get away with this color at work if you work in a more conservative environment. It's fun, but it's not in your face.
I Can Never Hut Up is so pretty. It's described as an "iridescent, edge-of-dawn-grey." The iridescent is what makes this shade unique. It has like a blue-green iridescence to it. I'm just curious if you can actually see it in real life.
Super Trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic is a great Mary Poppin's spin off name. The description is weird, saying that it's "this bottomless reflection or sea and sky." This color reminds me of the 4th of July. It's a perfect Americana blue.
Suzi Without A Paddle is a "cool and tranquil blue" that I think would look really pretty on deeper skin tones. You could totally wear this shade for Easter too. It's a more poppy pastel. Kind of reminds me of Cinderella.
Coconuts Over OPI is the only nude in this collection. It's described as a "subtle and toasty taupe." This is great for those that love the nude look, as it's a true nude shade. Not too warm, not too cool.
No Tan Lines is a "warm sunrise orange" that kind of reminds me of mac and cheese. This isn't something that I would recommend for fairer skin tones. I think this color would be better suited for tan skin and deeper skin tones.
Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet is a "radiant yellow." This is the shade of yellow that I was obsessed with when I was in high school. It's such a pretty shade of yellow that looks like that dandelion crayon from Crayola.
And those are the shades! Let me know which one is your favorite below!
