Why Changing How Hannah Kills Herself Is Disturbing
I'm still sick to my stomach over this one major change in the TV show.
I just don't understand how you can write and produce a TV show that deals with important topics like suicide and mental health then just decide that the way the character takes her life isn't interesting enough.
Netflix had it in the bag until they did this. I could deal with all the other changes they made, but I couldn't handle this one.
I just can't stop thinking about what this is saying to all the teenage girls and boys out there who are suffering and have read this book. It's such a slap in the face.
You can read an excerpt from my article below and the full thing here.

First off, 13 Reasons Why is one of my top five favorite books. I have never read anything like it and I doubt I will ever read anything similar ever again.
When the book came out, a set of YouTube videos came out with it where you can hear the tapes. It was so neat and I loved the crossing of media. I really wanted more and I was so hyped when I found out they were making a TV show about it.
