This was the book we read in our book club for November and a book I've been itching to read. This book has been talked about since it's been released. The topic of police brutality has been a controversial (Why though?). It's a fact that African Americans are 3x more likely to be killed by cops than white people.
This book is from the point of view from a witness who saw her best friend get killed by a police officer. You follow her go through the turmoil of everything that has already happened and everything that is going to happen. You hope beyond hope that this book is going to get the ending right, despite the fact that the ending hasn't been right in reality.
This book is something I didn't want to put down and want to read again, and slower. I think e v e r y o n e should read this book. I'm not sure if it would change the minds of people who say things like "Blue Lives Matter" but I think it would be a way of seeing how saying "Black Lives Matter" isn't saying that cops lives don't.
You can get the book for $11.33. You should go out and buy it, as this is going to become a classic that people read for years to come.
