The Perfect Comeback Of Caroline Jacobs by Matthew Dicks
This was an okay book. It's not the first book I would recommend to my friends to read. I think my main problem with this book was the actual layout of the storyline. The whole book is building up to this climax that isn't all that jaw-dropping and then the ending comes and there's nothing changed!
The premise of the story is that Caroline Jacobs, the main character, has been meek and timid her whole life, but she also has a big secret. Then one day, she snaps and decides to drive to her hometown to impulsively confront her high school bully all while bringing her daughter, who is nothing like her mother, with her.
The beginning of the novel was so interesting with Caroline snapped at the head of PTA. I think there were interesting elements of the book. I loved Polly as a character, Caroline's daughter. I also loved that Caroline's mom was a funeral organizer for dead pets.
Personally, I feel like this book was rushed or unfinished. It didn't leave me wanting more, per se, but rather more to be desired.
It was a nice quick read that I found interesting at times. If you're interested in picking this up, you can get it for $11.25.

“'I sometimes wonder if I’m the person I’m supposed to be,” Polly said. He voice was quiet. Almost distant. “Or if I’m just filling the only role left over.'”
“There’s no great dividing line between being a kid and an adult. We’re not all caterpillars turning into butterflies. You are what you are. When you grow up, you may be more careful than when you were a kid. You don’t say what you think as much as you once did. You learn to play nice. But you’re still the same person who did good things or rotten things when you were young. Whether you feel good about them or bad … whether you regret them. Well, that’s a different thing. But it’s not like they disappear forever.”
