Anne's House of Dreams by L.M. Montgomery
This might be my favorite Anne book so far in the series. It was equal parts heartbreaking and joyous to read. This book takes us to Anne and Gilbert's wedding (which, disappointedly, happens quickly despite having a huge build up) and then off to their first home together. Hence, where the title comes from.
We also get introduced to new characters that I immediately fell in love with. Anne makes new friends and you get to learn more about them in this novel and I hope they continue to be a part of the next few books.
I was really sad to see this book end because it ends with Anne and Gilbert deciding to move to a bigger house for Gilbert's job and for possibly expanding their family. I'm really sad to see them leave their friends on the other side of town, so I'm hoping that they will still make their way in Anne's life. But the theme of Anne books is just her making friends, things changing, and then her making new friends so I'm trying not to get too attached.
You can get this book for only $5.99. If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend it!
