2018 Resolutions Update
I did not want to write this. I knew I have not honored my resolutions well and after looking back at them again, I have done even worse than I thought I did originally. But I think it's important to show that everyone fails at their resolutions sometimes and I still have time to reach these goals. The year is only halfway over! I have a whole other six months to reach my goals!
Other than this, it's going to be a rather short post because like I said, I haven't reached many of my goals I had set out for myself this year.
1. Volunteer
I have been talking about volunteering for forever, but I never realized how specific it can be. Some organizations I was looking into for volunteer require that you be there on certain days and at certain times. It seems like most of them are geared toward retired people, which is great for them! Not so much for me. I do really want to walk dogs though because I love them so much. I'm going to fill out my applications right after this.
2. Watch My Spending
I haven't really talked about it, but I'm in the process of getting braces. I say process, because that's what it has been and has been exhausting and a lot more than I bargained for. It was a major decision for me because it's a lot of money to dedicate to this. So I'm watching my spending even more to try to get my savings back where it was before I started chasing my dental dreams.
3. Get A Job In My Field
This isn't for my lack of trying. It's extremely frustrating applying to jobs these days. I sometimes feel like it's just my field. It seems like no one wants to hire anyone or hire them and compensate them appropriately. It's disheartening at best even when I see my online friends who are 10x more experienced and talented than I am and still struggling to get a stable job.
4. Reach 500 Followers On My Blog And Buy A Domain
We aren't there yet! But we are well on our way!
5. Live Videos/ Videos
I really dropped the ball on this. I started out strong and then I just dropped the ball. It's not a lack of time, it's a lack of having my properties straight. But that's why I do blog posts like this!
6. Self-Care Sundays
I literally was talking about this in yesterday's blog post. I haven't taken a bath in forever and worn a sheet mask. Something I love to do and I have just not taken 30 minutes to myself to enjoy that time. I have thought about how I wish I had the time to do that! The thing is, I do have the time, I just feel like other things take precedence over it. It's time to go back to putting myself first, for at least a little while, once a week.
7. Plan More
This isn't totally hopeless. I still do use my planner but not as much as I probably should. I use it about twice a week instead of every day. I'm going to leave it right next to my bed so it's the first thing I do when I wake up.
8. Read More Blogs
Jeez, I haven't done this at all. I'm still struggling to keep up with the blogs I do read. Nevertheless, I still would like to make a go at this. If you have any recommendations or if you have a blog yourself you think I would enjoy, leave the link below!
That's it! I have a lot of work left to do and this post left me feeling accountable for myself because I've shared them with you all. Here's to accomplishing more goals!
