Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight & Contour Palette
I was SO excited to see this in my Summer FabFitFun box! It's not too often that I recognize a brand in my FabFitFun box, but of course, I know tarte! I already have a bunch of tarte products that I love and couldn't wait to try this out!
I remember when this first came out last summer it was sort of a hit or miss with the beauty community. tarte was trying to be innovative by having the palette have a swing cover and it just doesn't work. It's really hard to use the mirror in the palette because of this. I think it's strange to just have one cream contour shade and one powder contour shade and have four highlighting shades. It would have just made more sense to have three and three, no? Anyway, the whole palette kind of smells like Nesquik powder with a touch of some kind of cleaner. I don't hate it and I don't love it.
The cream contour, Shade, is super deep and warm. I can get away with it with my tanned skin, but if you have a fair complexion I don't think you'll be able to use this. I think a decent amount of deeper skin tones would be able to use this shade. Sculpt, the powder contour, is a little cooler and can be used for fairer skin tones. Let me tell you, these contours are PIGMENTED. I'm used to having to dig into my cream contours and that was not the case for this! I was so excited about that. It also blended really easily, making contouring a dream.
The highlighting shades are BEAUTIFUL and you'll find the perfect shade for your skin tone with all the options. They feel really good to the touch and aren't powdery. The shades are a little similar to Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit in Sun Dipped but these might be more wearable. Meaning, I think you can get away with wearing any of the shades regardless of your skin tones, whereas in Sun Dipped there are shades that are just too dark for me.
Overall, I'm really happy with this palette and will totally be using this more as the summer continues! You can pick up your own for $45!
