Welcome to the new book series I'm starting! I know what you're thinking, this is for a much younger audience than I am, and you're right. This is a series I started when I was younger and never finished, so I'm excited to start from the beginning and finish it this time!
I actually saw the movie before I read any of the books and I love the movie very much. It's very different from the books but in this instance, I think you can enjoy both separately.
The format of this book is exactly like a diary. There are no chapters, just dates. It's filled with the story of Mia and everything that is happening to her but it also has shopping lists and homework assignments. Meg Cabot does this so well and I believe she was one of the early authors to take on a different format like this and do it successfully.
This first book is similar to the movie with the addition of new characters. I think this is a great book for anyone just starting high school. I'm really excited to see where the series leads and to watch Mia grow throughout all the changes in her life.
You can get this book for $9.99.
